The Rise of Foldable Technology

Foldable technology is experiencing a spike as brands address demand for products that reflect Millennials’ mobile and travel-oriented lifestyles.


At Galaxy UNPACKED 2019, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fold, a luxury device that combines a smartphone and tablet into one foldable product. In addition to offering app continuity and three-way multitasking, the Fold also comes equipped with enhanced cameras and battery power, which are among the top things consumers want from their smartphones.



Royole, a California-based electronics company founded by Stanford grads, introduced a flexible QWERTY keyboard last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The foldable keyboard connects via Bluetooth and can be rolled up with the push of a button. Pricing is not yet confirmed, but it will (literally) roll out in the second quarter of 2019.



Thanks to their affordability and eco-friendliness, electric scooters are on the rise in major markets around the world. More startups are entering the space, and one standout brand is Glion with its Dolly Foldable Lightweight Adult Electric Scooter, which Business Insider ranked as the best due to its smooth ride and a convenient fold-up-and-roll-it design.
